About Coolor
Coolor is the home of a group of orphans. Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Violet surround the core of Black-Grey-White. We, the seven characters, correspond to seven colors.
We—Oh, almost forgot, there is a guy with no color.
We have lived together since childhood. We are determined to survive in this world. Our cool means the wonder of fantasy, and also the cruelty of reality, endless grief.
Now, we are reborn in the ashes of a dream, reactivating—from the future of the future to the past of the past, moving forward to the miracle between identity and difference!
About Us
Coolor and a series of works about their fictional world are the core original project of Coolor Studio. The project is currently led and researched by an avant-garde artist Q. Although Coolor Studio names itself "cool," we reject the cool in pop culture which is narcissistic, pre-reflective, and consumeristic. This kind of cool is vulgar since it is precisely not narcissistic enough, not thorough enough. Thus, we must push the cool to its extreme——to the cool which is flexible, dialectical, and cooler than the cool. We do cool art, we do critical art, and more importantly, we do liberating art, the art beyond art.
